Our Beliefs
MCC’s Statement of Faith…
This is the simple declaration of what MCC believes, as stated in our By-Laws, and accepted by our General Conference: “Christianity is the revelation of God in Jesus Christ and is the religion set forth in the scriptures. Jesus Christ is foretold in the Old Testament, presented in the New Testament, and proclaimed by the Christian Church in every age and in every land.”
Founded in the interest of offering a church home to all who confess and believe, Metropolitan Community Churches moves in the mainstream of Christianity.
Our faith is based upon the principles outlined in the historic creeds: Apostles and Nicene.
We believe:
- In one triune God, omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscient, of one substance and of three persons: God – our Parent-Creator; Jesus Christ the only begotten son of God, God in flesh, human; and the Holy Spirit – God as our Sustainer.
- That the Bible is the divinely inspired Word of God, showing forth God to every person through the law and the prophets, and finally, completely and ultimately on earth in the being of Jesus Christ.
- That Jesus…the Christ…historically recorded as living some 2,000 years before this writing, is God incarnate, of human birth, fully God and fully human, and that by being one with God, Jesus has demonstrated once and forever that all people are likewise Children of God, being spiritually made in God’s image.
- That the Holy Spirit is God making known God’s love and interest to all people. The Holy Spirit is God, available to and working through all who are willing to place their welfare in God’s keeping.
- Every person is justified by grace to God through faith in Jesus Christ.

Your site and your church are very interesting. Do you have a location closer to southern Maryland or Washington, DC (other than Baltimore)? May God bless you in all that you do for His kingdom!
In Christ,
Terry Klein.
Hi Terry,
Thanks for visiting our site! We have churches in many States, but I’m not sure about in Maryland. Try our church search by entering “MD” or “DC” in the search bar on this page: http://www.ufmcc.com/ourchurches/find-a-church/. That should provide you a listing of all churches in Maryland or DC.
Blessings,

There is a shift taking place here the Lord is bring about. I know one Pastor is already preaching on it that all people will be saved if they believe in the Lord Jesus. He did not discriminate when he was here and he doesn’t now. The church I was ordained in, the Lord said ordain everyone and do not turn anyone away. In 2001 we had over 20,00 people ordain to serve the Lord. I am a lesbian and I know the Lord loves me, he shows me everyday, he communicates with me everyday. I am also a prophet and I am here for the end times?
Are you the great folk who have the billboard on highway 5 at J St. in Chula Vista, Ca.?
Hi K,
We have local churches in almost every State and each one does advertising for the programs differently. If you can describe the billboard, and if it describes one of our denominational efforts, I might be able to be of more assistance.
Blessings,

let keep the gospel going so that people may get to know Jesus Christ.
could you please explain & enlighten me on this :
during the 1960’s i used to see written on the church wall ” Jesus Christ is coming” ; & than during the 1980’s , on the same church wall the writing changed to ” Jesus Christ coming SOON “; but now the same bill board had changed to ” Jesus Christ has COME !”
I was on Zazzle.com looking at gay bumper stickers and there was one that mentioned MCC. I “googled” the acronym and found your church! I was raised in a lesbian family so I was thrilled to discover your inclusive approach to spirituality. I am getting ready to create a handful of custom Zazzle products to promote on my personal blog. They offer a great affiliate program. Perhaps your staff/congregation has someone who would be willing to do the same for the MCC or its individual churches. I just thought it could be a super easy, hands-off fundraiser! Wishing you many blessings, Kirsten
Hi Kirsten,
Thanks for the info. We have used Zazzle on occasion for various products. We don’t have any active fundraising efforts there, but will certainly keep them in mind.
